Description of Project: To inspire families in the Brighton Heights Community to meet every 1st and 3rdSaturdaysy and the Brighton Heights Community Center from 9am to 2pm. During this time residents will be given brooms, trash bags, and gloves. We will break into small groups and pick up trash within a 10 block radius. The service program will conclude with a celebration inside the community center. Music and lightrefeshmentss will be provided. Additionally, each person will be asked to make a financial contribution of their choosing to offset the cost of the materials and celebration supplies.

Project Goal(s)/Objective(s): Goals are to unite the community; build trust between residents; to beautify the community; and take ownership and instill pride in our community.

Brief description of your needs: We need donations of any amounttotallingg $2500 by Oct 10th. Credit card contributions can be made via our PayPal account which is located on our FaceBook link. Checks can be mailed to our address.

What else do you want people to know about this effort? Simply, that I was born in this community 16 years ago and I have watched people trash my community. I got together with a few of my best friends and we decided to stop talking a take action NOW! We even plan to use our own money to keep the project going even if on a small scale. Additionally, we are planning a meeting with the mayor to bring attention to our efforts to make it a city wide competition. We envision keeping our city and state BEAUTIFUL!
